I know I said I was going to profile Dylan, but this kid comes more to mind right now, as I T.A.-ed in his class today.
Jan is a student in 2b, a class that I don't believe I have ever mentioned in this blog. 2b is a sharp class, and I quite like the students...but unfortunately, I don't quite have the names memorized yet, thus making these students somewhat difficult to mention. Most, however, except Jan. He is an adorable, red-haired boy, with cute bangs, wide eyes, and a face that makes me think of Max from Where the Wild Things Are and Alexander from Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Seriously, he looks like he should be the protagonist in his very own children's book. He appears to be a bright boy, but what really tugs at my (jagged, sharp, stone--grawr, kids, blech) heartstrings is his shy smile and eagerness to help. Jan stays during the the first part of the break after class to sweep up (it doesn't look like he's been told to do this, but maybe he has), and today he brought me a chair and cleaned up the chalkboard--when class was still going on.
And, yes, I had to sneak a look at his violet folder today to learn his name. Don't look at me like that. I chase after too many students to know all their names, even in November. This may or may not make me a terrible person.
He sounds like an adorable boy :)
ReplyDeleteHe really is. Incredibly so. Stay tuned for my other minions, for they are just as adorable!
