Hey, look! It's another post. I guess this make me an avid writer, or something. Egal.
Anyway, it looks like the most stressful day will be Wednesday. Though this is the day where I get to see my favorite class, I'm also at the school all day (which means...until 1:10. Shush.). The last class, 4c, is difficult. When I got home from work today, I sat down and thought, "I'm not doing this for two weeks. I'm doing this for ten months. Ten months of coming home and not being able to rant to anyone in person right after work." (Though, English TA of Awesome #2 will be able to relate, which is a lifesaver.)
Ten months. Well, at least it isn't forever. Ten months is a small amount of time, in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully, I will be wanting to stay here when it's time to return home.
Anyway, 4c. One of the English teachers I assist is sick this week, so there was a substitute. This meant that I basically took charge of a class, going over a subject that I had looked at maybe one minute before it started. And, all things considered, it went...all right. The kids still think I'm pretty cool, so I suppose it's good.
I also met the third English teacher I assist for the first time today. She was on sick leave last week because of a bad leg. She also didn't know that I was assisting her, so all of that combined made her a bit flustered. That class, 1b, was better behaved than last week, though. I guess substitute teacher = CHAOS.
Tea and nap. Dealing with children, even for only five hours, is still wearisome, no matter how good they are.
What's the difference between an a and a b class? Just curious. -Haley
ReplyDeleteThere isn't a difference, really. It's like our school system in the fact that we have more than one first grade class (for example) in order to keep the classes small.
ReplyDeleteOh, okay. I thought that was it, but then occurred to me that in some countries they level things out further in schools.
